After-Hours Telemedicine
Online consultation guidance and booking via myGC (myCG).
What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine allows you to consult a doctor online for selected medical concerns when an in-person visit is not immediately possible.
Common situations suitable for telemedicine
- Minor infections or symptoms (non-emergency)
- Medication questions or follow-up advice
- Chronic condition guidance (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)
- Review of results or documents where appropriate
Not for emergencies.
Severe chest pain, severe shortness of breath, stroke symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, severe allergic reaction, collapse/confusion, or suicidal thoughts require urgent care.
Call 112 or go to the nearest emergency unit.
How after-hours telemedicine works
- Create or log in to your myGC account.
- Select Online Consultation / Telemedicine (if not visible, book normally and add note: “Telemedicine request”).
- Share a brief symptom summary and upload documents if myGC allows.
- Confirm booking (and payment, if applicable).
- Follow the instructions sent by the practice/myGC for the online consult.
Choose consultation type
Online consultations have limits. Prescriptions, medical certificates and referrals are provided only if clinically appropriate. If symptoms worsen or you are worried, seek urgent care.
